The
Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended
delegates of the party in the region for massively voting for the 2012
presidential hopeful, Nana Addo in the super delegate conference on Sunday. Mr.
Bugri Nabor says the delegates have made him proud and call on them to in any
giving time exhibit such unflinching support not only to him but the party in
particular. The NPP chairman was speaking in an exclusive interview with Fiila
News at his residents after the super delegate conference which sees Nana Addo
leading the race with 80.78 percent of total votes cast nationwide. Out
of 72 delegates ballots cast in the Northern region Akufo-Addo had 62, Alan
Kyerematen 4, Joe Ghartey 2, Addai Nimoh 2, the rest zero. Mr. Bugri Nabor who
publicly threw his support behind Nana Addo before the election, said a united
front will enable the party wrestle power squarely from their main opponent,
the NDC. He therefore appealed to them to step aside and allow Nana Addo to go
unopposed in the national delegate conference to avoid disgrace as well as
minimize cost.Meanwhile,
Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joe Ghartey announced that he has stepped
down from the NPP flagbearership race despite successfully making it into the
top five presidential aspirants qualified to contest in October.
