Lamshegu Chief appeals for access roads

The Chief of Lamashegu community, Naa Alhaji Ziblim Abdulai is appealing to Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to open up the community before the commencement of the street naming exercise. This he believes will improve the accessibility of the community in times of emergency. He noted that there is the need for the community to be open up before the commencement of the street naming exercise in the metropolis, which he believe will improve the road network for easy access to the community. He therefore, called on residents who have encroached roads to vacate or bring documents to justify their stay. Lamashegu is a suburb community in the Tamale Metropolis, which is densely populated and with less access routes for vehicular movement in the event of emergencies. However, under the street naming exercise that is yet to commence in the area residents believe there is the need for the community to be open up to enhance the access.  Some households in the community have build on roads and waterways, which is likely to delay the implementation process of the project according to authorities.  The Public Affairs Director for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Salifu Musah has assured residents that the assembly will continue to open up more roads in the various communities to improve its access as and when funds are available. Some affected residents called for compensation. But the Assemblyman for Lamanshegu North Electoral area calls for unity among residents in the street naming exercise.
