The
Public Affairs Director of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has indicated that
the assembly has indicated that the office of the Mayor of Tamale would not
discriminate against any chief especially the Gukpegu Naa and other prominent
chiefs in Tamale. Mr. Issah Musah Salifu said the Metropolitan Assembly for
that matter the Mayor of Tamale hold the Gulkpe Naa in high esteem just like
any other chief worth his sort in Tamale. He urged the public not to descend a
path that has a tendency to create or deepen any mistrust. Mr. Issah Musah
Salifu was responding to issues raised by secretary of the Gulkpe Naa, Mohammed
Rashad yesterday on Fiila News naming the mayor as a possible person who could
influence a decision where the Black Stars refused to visit the Gulkpegu palace
during their recent march between the Syli of Guinea on the 15th of
this month. The Public Affairs Director at the Assembly however dismissed
claims made by the secretary of Gulkpe Naa that there is no cordial
relationship and flow of communication between the assembly and chief assembly
and chiefs in the metropolis.
