Interior Minister courts security agencies' support to fight corruption



Interior Minister, Mark Woyongo, has urged security agencies in the country to help deal with the widespread corruption in Ghana and worsening security in West Africa. Mr. Woyongo said it was time security agencies vigorously got involved in the campaign to eradicate corruption in the country. Addressing a cross section of all security agencies under his Ministry in Takoradi, Mr Woyongo said revelations of massive corruption at the National Service Secretariat (NSS) show politicians are not the only culprits in corruption in Ghana. The Ghana Police Service, The Immigration Service, The Prisons Service, Narcotics Control Board, Ghana National Fire Service are some of the agencies under the Interior Ministry. The Interior Minister also called for extra vigilance to check worsening security situation in the West Africa sub region. He said these situations make possibility of an influx of guns and amunition into Ghana, very spectacle.
