MTN mobile money subscribers stranded

Hundreds of subscribers of MTN mobile money in the northern sector have been left stranded as they cannot assess their monies for almost a week now. Long queues are mounting at the various MTN mobile money cash points especially at the northern regional office. These subscribers are predominantly SHS students whose parents sent them monies to pay school fees and for other basic upkeep for their studies. As it stands now, most of these subscribers are yet to know when they can get access to their monies. Fiila News visit to the Northern regional office of MTN-Ghana saw hundreds of subscribers’ scrambled at the office while some are at the mercy of the sun. Telecommunication service providers, especially MTN-Ghana has rendered poor services to their customers in the northern sector for the past five years. Several punitive measure by the necessary authorities are yet to change what the subscribers described as “taking customers for granted” as a result of the huge numbers of subscribers amassed by the telecommunication giant as compare to the other competitors. In an interview with some of the frustrated students, they stated that they have been at the office for almost four days without getting access to their monies. They told Fiila News Saaka Alhassan they need the money badly to buy pamphlets, gari and as well as pay house dues. Meanwhile, all efforts to speak to the regional manager of MTN in the northern region proof futile as security men told our reporter, he was indispose.
