The
Tamale District Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church of Ghana has celebrated
its 40th anniversary with a call on the youth to take advantage of
opportunities and acquire employable skills. Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, the
Northern Regional Minister, commended the Church for its good work in the
Northern Region especially in education. The cerebration on the theme: “God of
life, lead us to Justice, peace and Dignity for wholeness”, was also used to
mark the beginning of the construction of a multi-purpose school complex in the
Northern Region. The minister commended the church for its contribution to
development in both spiritual and moral guidance especially for the youth in
the region. He said the government would continue to create employment opportunities
and advised the youth to stop idling and seek the needed employable skills to
take advantage of the job opportunities created in the region. Alhaji
Mohammed-Muniru called on organizations and individuals to engage in tree
planting to protect the environment from climate change. Rev Kojo Sigfried
Matti, the District Pastor of Tamale E.P. Church, said the church, which was
established on October 29, 1973 in Tamale has promoted educational institutions
in the Northern Region. He said the church has empowered women by providing
them with training skills on soap making and sewing as means of supporting
their families while the church had also contributed in instilling good morals.
