Tamale Central MP under pressure to step down

Tamale based pressure group of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) called Gbewaa Youth is mounting pressure on the Tamale Central MP, Inusah Fuseini to step aside when the party opens nominations for the 2016 Parliamentary primaries. The group says the NDC risks losing the Tamale Central seat if the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Inusah Fuseini is retained for the 2016 Parliamentary election. The group’s Spokesperson, Mohammed Siisudeen told Citi News that Hon. Inusah Fuseini has outlived his usefulness as the Tamale Central Legislator. He served notice that NDC supporters in the Tamale Central constituency will vote skirt and blouse in 2016 with Hon. Inusah Fuseini as the Parliamentary candidate. Mohammed Siisudeen advised the party’s leadership in the region to compel Hon. Inusah Fuseini to rescind his decision of seeking re-election in 2016. This, according to him will avoid the debacle which led to the defeat of the Tamale North former MP, Hon. Abubakari Sumani in 2012. He disclosed the group’s resolve to rally behind one Engineer Ibrahim Seidu of the Road Fund Secretariat to contest the Tamale Central seat on the NDC’s ticket in 2016.  The NDC Gbewaa Youth also accused Hon. Inusah Fuseini of sponsoring some chiefs in the Northern Region to malign the Tamale South MP, Hon. Harunah Iddrisu.
