The Tamale paramount chief has promised spiritual support for
Ghana’s Black Stars ahead of a game against Togo which Ghana needs to avoid a
loss to qualify for AFCON 2015 in Equatorial Guinea. The Gulkpe-Na, Alhaji
Alhassan Abdulai, gave the assurance after donating a bull, 100 tubers of
yam and 25 shinny smocks to the players who will be playing the last AFCON
qualifying game in Tamale, Northern regional capital. The Black Stars who will
be playing in Tamale for only the second time, had visited the Tamale paramount
chief to formally greet the Tamale chief on their national assignment.
Saani Dara, GFA Communications Director in an interview with Joy News indicated
that in an atmosphere of charity, the players have also contributed monies to
be given to Nyohini Orphanage. The mood in Tamale is set to get festive when
the team is set for crunch much later today. Ghana needs at least a draw, Togo
needs a win in this last qualifying encounter which will determine which two
teams will make out of the group to join 14 other nations in Equatorial Guinea
