Health workers uses torchlight’s for health care service

Health workers in the Kpandai district of the northern region are being compelled to use mobile phones and torchlight’s to administer health care service to client especially women in labour at night.  Over five health centers in the districts lack access to electricity. Solar lamps procured to some of the health centers do little to help the situation as the weather is not favorable for charging them. A recent visit by Fiila news to Bunyan Health Center in the Kpandai district revealed that health workers have to use crook means to rescue lives of innocent souls. The In-charge of the Bunyan health center, Madam Rahinatu Isshaka in an interview says the situation is impeding health care delivery in the area. Health centers in the Kpandai district have no means of transport for emergency cases and for outreach programmes. It has also been revealed that the entire Kpandai District Health Directorates lack an ambulance van, hence making referral cases impossible leading to deaths. In an interview with Fiila News, the Member of Parliament for the area, Mathew Nyindam admitted the problems in the health sector in the district. Mr. Nyindam also revealed that he has procured two ambulance vans that are yet to be delivered to the district health directorate to boost health care delivery to his constituents.
