Mr. Sidii Abubakar Musah, an aspiring candidate for the
position of National Youth Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress
(NDC) has advised the youth to stop destroying the party’s symbols and
paraphernalia. He stated that the party colours carried the spirit and the
strong identity of the party that distinguished it from other political parties
and that no matter the level of provocation or frustration it should not cause
anybody to destroy them. Mr. Sidii, who gave the advice, while interacting with
the media in Wa, said he became sad when news reached him that some irate youth
of the party had defaced the front view of the party’s Regional and
Constituency Offices in Wa, as a way of registering their displeasure about
some changes made by President John Dramani Mahama. The aspiring National Youth
Organiser condemned the act, describing it as an unfortunate incident, which
should not be allowed to repeat itself in the history of the party in the
region or anywhere in the country. Mr. Sidii said the party would not be able
to win the 2016 election without a vibrant and disciplined youth wing that
would rise above the odds and claim victory for the party in 2016. Mr. Sidii,
who is in the Upper West Region to solicit support to contest the party’s
National Youth Organiser position, described himself as a team player, who
would offer a dedicated and selfless leadership that the youth could trust and
rely on. He said under his leadership, he would create departments for
research, communication and fund raising among others to generate concrete
information and resources to support the party in the 2016 elections. Mr. Sidii,
who contested the position four years ago and lost narrowly, believes this time
round, he would clinch the position to better serve his party and help win
power, come 2016 general elections
