The
Anglican Young Peoples Association (AYPA) has donated assorted items worth five
thousand Ghana cedis to the needy in society through the Anglican Diocesan
Development and Relieve Organization (ADDRO) to help improve their lives. The
Anglican Church has been noted for its efforts in complementing development
through the provision of Educational facilities, livelihood empowerment
projects and the provision of potable drinking water to the less privilege in
society. Mr. Christian Percy Brown, president of the association made this
known at the 14th Biennial National Delegates Conference of the Church in Tamale
under the theme; “will your Anchor hold in the Storms of Life”. The conference
aims at motivating the youth to stand firm in trying moment of their lives. It
also aims at enhancing their spiritual and moral abilities to enable them
assist the church and the community that they live. The President of the
Anglican Young Peoples Association charged delegates not to remain the same but
transform societies after the delegates conference. He expressed optimism that the youth of the
church will remain steadfast not only to the development of the church but the
societies in which they live. The Regional Ministers Representative Mr. Owusu
Frimpong stated that people of the Northern region and Ghana owe the Anglican
Church a great debt of gratitude for playing a role of providing education to
the people through the establishment of many educational institutions. The
youth were asked not to involve themselves in hopelessness that will bring
disrepute to the society. New executives are to be elected this year to run the
affairs of the Association to tenure.
