The Founders Fund Club of the National Democratic Congress
(NDC), a youth wing of the party in the Northern Region has advised delegates
of the various constituencies to vote for competent candidates who have the
party at heart in the upcoming branch and constituency elections. According to
the youth wing, delegates should eschew from voting aspirants who turns to
induce them with money but rather go for those who can make positive change in
the party devoid of their financial capabilities. In a press statement issued
to the media today and signed by Mr. Yakubu Osman and Mohammed Sulemana,
chairman and secretary respectively, called for a transparent and clean
campaign by all candidates in the race. The statement therefore encouraged
aspirants to ensure that their campaign activities are conducted in a peaceful
environment, since they are belong to the same family. Vetting of aspirants to the various positions
in the region will start today. A little over thousand candidates are vying for
six hundred positions of the NDC in the northern region alone. The party has
designated 31 August to 5 October to conclude branch and constituency elections
which will be followed by regional and youth congresses on 19 October.
