The Coalition of unpaid Nurses and Midwives
in the northern region are to hit the street of the Northern Regional Capital,
Tamale on 8th December, 2014 to protest over the non-payment of
their salaries and arrears. The Nurses claimed they have not received their
salaries and arrears due them for at least 6 to 19 months. The coalition
comprises of Registered General Nurses (RGN), Registered Midwives (RM),
Registered Metal Nurses (RMN), Registered Community Nurses (RCHN), Enrolled
Nurse and Certified Community Nurses in the northern region. Members of the
coalition are all qualified staffs under the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the
Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG).
