IGP promises water-tight security during Christmas

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Alhassan says massive security measures are being put in place to provide water-tight security and ensure a hitch-free Christmas celebration. According to him, the police have been adequately mobilized and equipped to bring to the lowest minimum, incidence of crime recorded during the yuletide. The IGP made the promise at the inauguration of a police station built by the management of Agri-Cattle Lakeside Estate Limited. Mr. Alhassan who was the special guest of honour bemoaned the lack of resources for police personnel to carry out their duties effectively. He therefore called on other corporate bodies and individuals to emulate the Lakeside Estate example for the advancement of society. The IGP commended the company for complementing government’s effort in the fight against crime in the country. He also charged the police officers detailed there to be disciplined and serve the interest of the people in the community.  For his part, Managing Director of Lakeside Estate Limited, Prince Joseph Ayiku said the decision to build a police station in the estate is because security of residents is paramount. He noted that having been in the industry for 14 years the Lakeside Estate management realizes that community policing has become imperative because there is need for the public and police to work in partnership to ensure development and limit crime.
