NEDco to resolve outage problems in Tamale



The Public and Community Relation Officer of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), Alhaji Mohammed Siam has revealed that plans are far advance in resolving issues related to power outages in the Tamale metropolis.  At a media briefing, he noted that the company has embarked on project such as the replacement of a 43 kilometer stretch of underground cables, the upgrade of 22 transformers and replacement of 19 others. He added that there has been an upgrade of 500 communities in the metropolis under the 50-projects initiative worth a million dollars. Alhaji Siam further noted that three substations have been constructed in Tamale, Wa and Sunyani to help boost voltage capacity in those areas. The projects which aimed at reducing the power outages experienced will not only ensure reliable power but also efficient and quality service delivery to their customers. A passionate appeal was therefore made to residents to exercise maximum restraint and stop incurring their wrath on staffs whenever there is a power outage.
